Player, Team & Personnel Integrity Screening
Screening is different from investigating a known allegation. It may be considered where an organisation has a legitimate and proportionate reason to assess a defined integrity risk associated with a player's, official's or employee's role.
CFN's approach is issue-led rather than question-led: the behavioural issue is defined first and suitable examination questions are formulated afterwards. Screening is not used to decide whether someone is generally honest, trustworthy or likely to behave properly in the future.
Where scientifically and ethically appropriate, CFN may consider a focused methodology such as the British One-Issue Screening Test. Any screening proposition must concern clearly defined conduct, a relevant reference period and an issue connected to the participant's role or applicable integrity rules. Unrestricted lifestyle screening and vague character assessment are not appropriate.
