Polygraph examinations require a private, quiet and appropriately controlled environment. Depending on the location and nature of the instruction, an appointment may be arranged in a professional meeting room, private office or suitable clinical setting.
Domestic home examinations are not normally offered because interruptions, familiarity, other occupants and environmental conditions can affect the integrity of the process.
Advanced computerised physiological monitoring is used to record respiration, cardiovascular activity, electrodermal activity and movement during a structured professional examination.
